The DOT technology offers results approaching those of traditional CO2 laser resurfacing, but with complete recovery in only a few days. This is becoming the treatment of choice for reversing the effects of aging on the skin. Where can the DOT be used? The DOT can be used on many areas of the body, including the eyelids, hands, elbows, and decollete. In addition to areas of loose skin, wrinkled skin or crepey skin, the DOT provides excellent results when used for acne scars and treatment of pigmentation problems. How does the DOT work? The DOT laser penetrates into the upper layer of the dermis, which is the supporting layer of the skin and contains most of the skin's collagen. The DOT targets water in these tissues, resulting in tissue ablation inside the dot. Each dot is surrounded by a zone of thermal tissue damage formed by the laser. The thermal damage is responsible for the superior results seen with CO2 lasers. How does the DOT achieve shorter recovery time than other CO2 ablation techniques? Previous CO2 ablative treatments removed the entire skin surface. This required the skin to heal from below - a somewhat painful process. Because the DOT leaves islands of intact skin around each dot, the treated skin heals quickly from this surrounding tissue. This is one of the primary differences between the DOT and previous laser treatments and is responsible for a drastically shorter recover time associated with the DOT treatment. What are the results of the DOT treatment? Collagen shrinkage as a result of thermal damage results in some immediate skin tightening. Further improvements in skin tightness and collagen density occur as a result of collagen remodeling and begin about 30 days after the treatment. Improvements continue for up to one year.   Botox™: When injected muscles producing wrinkles, Botox blocks nerve transmission and thus relaxes the surrounding muscles. This has the effect of smoothing the skin so that wrinkles disappear. Botox injections are effective for wrinkles in the forehead, lower eyelids, frown lines and crow's feet.   Cheek Augmentation: A variety of cheek implants are available to restore youthful fullness to the cheeks or to enhance your existing cheekbones. The implants are made of non-reactive material and are placed from inside the mouth to avoid external scars.   Lip Augmentation: We offer Restylane™, Juvaderm™, fat injections, and Ultrasoft™ implants to add fullness and help restore youthfulness to your appearance without incisions and minimal to no downtime. They plump up the creased and sunken areas of the face and help reduce the appearance of laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet and other facial creases.   Juvederm™: Juvederm™ is a safe, natural appearing, hyaluronic acid product indicated for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Juvederm™ replaces the hyaluronic acid our skin loses with age, bringing back its volume and smoothing facial wrinkles and folds. It is an excellent product for restoring lip volume and shape. Juvederm™ lasts up to one year.   Fat Injection: Fat injections can help restore youthfulness to your appearance by replenishing the youthful volume our face loses as we age. This procedure is especially helpful in adding fullness to the lip, cheeks, hollowed eyes and temples. The filler plumps up the creased and sunken areas of the face. Fat injections can help reduce the appearance of laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet and other facial creases. Fat injections also result in improved skin texture and a more youthful appearance. And since the fat Dr. Zeph uses comes from your own body fat, you are not susceptible to allergic reactions.   Microtia: Microtia is a congenital malformation of the external ear characterized by an absent ear canal, a malpositioned earlobe, and a small cartilage remnant instead of the normal external ear. Dr. Zeph has considerable experience in reconstructing the external ear for microtia patients and those with other external ear malformations.   Restylane™: Restylane is both a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane treatment last up six months or even longer and can be used anywhere on the face without fear of allergic reaction. It is especially useful to restore volume to the cheeks and to soften deepened nasolabial folds. Radiesse is composed of tiny calcium-based microspheres suspended in a natural gel. The microspheres support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen they gradually break down over time.
